Enlightening

My mom is right. I have met some of the most interesting people here. I feel not only jealous, but amazed by their lives, almost on a daily basis. If I want to meet more people like the ones I am meeting here, then I better hope I end up in a great school. This is what I promise myself.

DRAMA, long time no see! Hahaha. It's definitely here to stir things up... silly, silly teenagers and their hormones. "HEY! You look kinda cute!"

Intensive

So I'm kinda stuck in an 8th floor dorm doing something that I absolutely hate at this point, and will be continuing to do for days on end. SATs and college essays are so meaningless. Why do we have to be reduced to a number to explain our entire life's achievements? And even for the essay, why do we have to have entirely perfect english and grammer? I thought it was supposed to be about our uncomplicated selves. What's so wrong with blurting about our lives (kinda like blogging, haha)? In lots of ways, it's the purest form of our being; not some essay that went through 93405809430 revisions. I kinda wish the admissions people could just look into our souls and know if we would be a perfect match for that college. It would make life so much easier. But then again, "life sucks, then you die," says Jacob Black<3

Speaking of Jacob Black, the pictures and trailers on Tram's tumblr make me HELLA EXCITED for new moon!

The carpet being yanked out

My mother told me I can't swim for the next two weeks, ugggggggh!!! god, i'm so pissed. And I think I know why too; she's testing me. She thinks I hang out with people on the team too much and she thinks it's a replay of my "suspicious" behavior from back in 8th grade. She wants to see how mad I get and play me out as a the lying bad guy. WELL IT AIN'T GONNA WORK. Instead of the whining teenager, I'm gonna be the responsible adult and make her the whining teenager. This little experiment should be interesting. I'll figure out the details later... for now, I'm gonna go punch a wall. I WANNA SWIM!!! She can't take that away from me; to do so would mean that she must not know me at all!

Physics finals are over, HALLELUJAH! Professor still hasn't updated grades yet... but I really do hope that I maintain my grade, even with the final that was such a jerk move on her part. I'm really glad I took the class though cause 6 weeks and it's over! Now all that's left is that annoying US History class... and SAT classes that start next week. Aiyaaaa, when will summer truly begin?

Blue skies, red sunsets

Duuuude, plasma lamps/balls are so freakin' awesome. I kindasortareally want one for my room. "Aww too bad you couldn't get geek points!"

JO's sucked pretty badly. It was my first time competing in a 50 meter pool though, and you don't quite realize how incredibly and annoyingly LONG it is until you are actually racing in one. In the 100 back, I gained almost 4 seconds off my PR and ran into the wall for my finish. It was quite disappointing to say the least, but oh well... just another experience to learn from, right?

My brother has a 102 fever. Whenever he is sick, the house is eerily quiet; it doesn't feel very normal. I feel like shit when he looks so helpless. And he eats a whole lot less then normal, which is the absolute worst cause he barely eats anything when he isn't sick. What a poor little boy.

So except for the occassional misstep, blow to ego, low point, confusion, etc... life is good :)

Brick walls

“But remember, the brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.”

– Randy Pausch

I wholeheartedly recommend watching "The Last Lecture." Randy Pausch is truly inspirational and a hero to many.

Junk food

So Junior Olympics is tomorrow and I'm really scared. I haven't been eating as carefully as I should have. I had an ice cream sundae last night and now I regret it. I don't feel like I'm in really good shape like I was during swim season at MHS. I just feel... normal. Therefore my game plan for tomorrow is just to arrive, warm up, swim, warm down, wait for Gideon and Kelvin to finish, shower, then take a nap during the hour-long ride home... which basically translates to get in, get out, get ahead. 100 back ain't that long anyways. I'll be beyond satisfied if I can reach my PR of 1:04.93 (which seems to be unattainable now), although it was be AWESOME if I drop a few milliseconds. Who knows, I haven't swam at a long course meet in months.

The US History test at Deanza wasn't too horrible. Easier than I thought, but still hard nonetheless. Thank god I had Jonathan, Kevin, and Tram taking it with me. Without that major cram session, I wouldn't have been able to answer a lot of the stupid questions. Sorry Kevin for accidentally-on-purpose dropping your phone. And Tram, those macbook pictures seriously made me laugh so hard that I cried, haha.

I try to use my wishes veeeery carefully. There is a bigger picture. Don't you think it's silly to wish for a short term desire?

When you're on a plane...

Thanks for teaching me how to wipe my ass with only 1 piece of 1-ply toilet paper. FUNNIEST SHIT EVER!!! Hahaha. I've missed you.

USA Swimming Nationals 2009

Congrats to Lochte (American Record in 200 IM), Peirsol (World Record in 100 back and 200 back), Phelps (World Record in 100 fly), and all the other beautiful swimmers at the USA Swimming Nationals 2009. I'll be watching you all on TV at World Championships in Rome ;)

Good question

Helping yourself while helping others

Key Club is selling (unisex) American Apparel hoodies and all extra proceeds go to Pediatric Trauma Prevention. They normally sell for $42 but though Key Club, you can get them for around $29 to 32 (25% off). There are A LOT of colors too and remember, it's for a good cause! :)

Interested? Tell me!

I can only go so far

Duck duck goose (F*** f*** shoes), Elbow Tag, and Australian Pursuit are greeeat games. Even the hell set was kinda fun today :) Practice has been more playing and less swimming, which I kinda have mixed feelings on. I wanna be perfectly in shape for Junior Olympics and I only have one week to do so, but if our coaches won't let us concentrate on SWIMMING, I don't know how I possibly can get ready by then. I need a coach to push me to my limits until I hate (or should I say "strongly dislike") them... but in reality, I won't hate them for long if I improve and get better times. I'm not supposed to enjoy practice like this! I'm supposed to be sore on a daily basis.

I guess all that complaining was "counterintuitive," as my physics teacher would say. But hey, no pain, no gain.

Favorites of the day

I have a little downtime so it's just me and my computer for an hour or two :) Actually, it's not downtime... I'm just too lazy to be doing all the crap I have to do.

Catchiest song: Second Time, by Lady Gaga

Cutest video: Evian Roller Babies

Sexiest movie trailer: Jennifer's Body

Cutest story: 60 year Engagement

^ I HIGHLY doubt that it's true and I think it's quite hilarious... but you never know.

Must haves!!!
Alright, I think I've had enough internet for one day. Toodles!

Somewhere along in the bitterness

For the record, this is called a digger. A DIGGER, ya hear me!? hehehe :D

I GOT A 5 ON MY AP WORLD HISTORY EXAM!!! Woot woot :D I hated that damn class, so YAAAAY!

Duuuude, driving around in Ford Explorer is the BOMB. I love it, driving is so much fun! It's like a mini-high! haha. But I'm not entirely sure if I trust myself alone in the car without my daddy yet... I get a wee bit confused behind-the-wheel now and then. Hopefully, people will back off when they see a teenage girl with a bigass SUV! I would be scared if I were you!

Now, I shall depart for the TV, where my loves (Ahem, Lochte and Phelps... duh!) are awaiting me at the 2009 USA Swimming Nationals.

Junior year at-a-glance

My "locked" schedule, as determined by the loooovely Ms. Harke. I am pretty pleased with it, I got most of the teachers I wanted. Hopefully, I pass US History this summer so I can take Ceramics 4th period instead (and have 3 electives, hehe).

1st - AP Calculus AB (Nguyen)
2nd - Honors English (Conradson)
3rd - Anatomy (Henschtke)
4th - AP US History (Ducote)
5th - AP Chemistry (Meyer)
6th - Journalism (Colburn)

I have been taking naps on a daily basis now... I NEVER take naps! I think I am stressing out a little with all the crap I have to do, almost as stressed as I was during the school year. Did I mention that Tram found a white hair on me? I believe it represents my sophomore year, cause at the root, the hair was black... but it gradually turned to brown and blonde then WHITE for at least 5 inches, then at the very tip was black hair again (which probably represents June, which was kinda laidback).

Fourth of July weekend

"Life sucks, then you die." --Jacob, from Breaking Dawn.

That quote makes me (and Joann) laugh everytime. It's probably the most honest quote ever, and that's what makes it hilarious. I can't believe Bella is a vampire now. Still Team Jacob, but we'll see.

So it's official... tomorrow, me and my brother are gonna journey down to Socal for the weekend and meet my mom there and hopefully my dad. It seems everyone is going there for the weekend, like 4 status updates in the last week on facebook were by people saying they were either packing or there already.

I love when grades are curved :D
