A Better Replacement

New laptop for the time-being. In reality, it's just my dad's spare one. I don't know why he was hiding this, it's so much faster than mine. It's about time mine retired, but I'm a little worried I won't be able to get my pictures and songs out since it's not starting up. The documents I could care less about; school is out anyways.

Dad, I really miss you. Come home soon please, you've been gone long enough. Mom, have fun in Socal. Hopefully we can join you down there this weekend if Daddy comes home in time.

I like the heat. It feels... right. NOW I feel like I am in California.

Eclipse

Even though I am not a big fan of things that spin, I really wanna go on that ride. It's at the Alameda County fair and apparently, the Fair purchased the ride from Neverland before Michael Jackson died. They even said that the legend himself rode it. It's like a real piece of history.

"Robert Pattinson can even have chemistry with a brick wall. He just has that in him."

I love it and it's probably true. He is so beautiful. But... I think that after reading Eclipse, I am definitely rooting for Jacob Black (but I must read Breaking Dawn first to be sure). Although in reality, Robert Pattinson > Taylor Lautner.

Tomorrow is the first day of US History. Too bad I don't have a textbook yet. Oh, and the fact that history really cannot hold my attention for a time span of more than a few minutes. I am still sick of the whole AP World History ordeal, uuuugh.

Getting things done

Man, it sucks not having a working laptop anymore. I can pretty much do everything that I normally do on my phone, except blog. I really want a LG Xenon!!! On the bright side, getting off the computer makes me a whole lot more productive :)

I managed to watch Transformers 2 in imax twice :D Totally worth it! I highly recommend watching it in imax, it makes everything so much more realistic and AWESOME. The first time, I went with my crazy friends, who I always manage to laugh my ass off (usually almost to the point of crying) with. The second time, I went with my nasty<3 and chlorinated friends. Afterwards, I started seeing trucks and yellow cars everywhere, I swear! "It's a sign, the Transformers are here!!!" --Joann.

And I managed to finish Twilight and New Moon; it took me 1 day for each book. I gotta admit, I kinda understand how they are addicting. I caved in, I decided I HAD to read New Moon before the movie came out this time and I was uber curious anyways. I agree that the book is so much better than the movie, but then again, that's always the case. Honestly though, if I were Bella, I would choose Jacob. Edward is perfect and all... but Bella is risking too much. I'm sorry, I love Edward<333 but Jacob is the practical and realistic choice.

I've noticed how moody I have become. When I am in good mood, I feel great and like I'm a riot ;) But as morning practices are taking away my precious sleep, my mood is sloooowly declining. I feel it, I show it, and I hate it. I hate how selfish I have become. I hate how my temper flares at the smallest things. I hate how I have become impatient and rash. I hate how I can't seem to pay attention in class anymore. I hate competition, but I know that I need it and crave it. And I hate how physics is becoming more and more complicated.

Thanks, you're really starting to become a great friend.

*Happy birthday cousin Austin! I am forever indebted to you for driving me everywhere on a daily basis. Also, happy belated birthday Kayjing, I miss seeing you everyday! And I cannot forget, RIP Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson, legends in their own crafts.

I got 2 hours of sleep, yay meee!

Close but no cigar

The swim meet at Santa Clara International was a bit of a disappointment, but it was great nonetheless. As it turns out, we went the wrong day to get autographs/pictures cause they were signing autographs the day before! That sucked a lot, totally FML. But on the bright side, we actually got to watch Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps race each other in 2 events (Lochte won in the 100 back, which combines two of my favorite things in swimming: Ryan Lochte + backstroke!). And the place where we sat was right next to where the winners get interviewed on TV, so I was LITERALLY arms distance away from Phelps and Lochte and other swimmers that I lost track of. That really made us scream and giggle. I also got Leisel Jones' autograph and a picture with Matt Grevers, who are both Olympians and great swimmers, not to mention waaaay underappreciated as compared to Phelps and Lochte. Afterwards, the four of us had an adventure; we went hunting for them but never found them. I guess there is always next year though. MR. AN NGUYEN, I WANT THOSE PICTURES OF PHELPS AND LOCHTE!!! Please? :D

Physics at Mission is turning out to be an okay class. Not the actual topic of physics, but all the people that are in it make it that much more interesting.

Santa Clara International

OH MY GOSH I HAVE TICKETS TO WATCH MY LOOOOVE, RYAN LOCHTE, SWIM TOMORROW!!! And Michael Phelps! And every other swimmer that is famous! My heart is like all bubbly and jumpy, I AM SO FREAKIN' EXCITED! I really hope I get a pictures and autographs at the end... but just watching them swim is enough for me. And this time, I will be MUCH closer than I was when I watched them in Beijing ;D

MHS Class of 2009 Graduation was today. I will upload pictures as soon as other people upload them. Yeah, I forgot my camera today, how stupid of me! So now I have to hunt through people's Facebook albums or wait until they post them and tag me. It's quite a long process...

Halfway done with high school

It certainly didn't feel like the last day of school yesterday, other than the fact that I decided to skip practice for a day to hang out. Today, I spent most of the day making graduation posters with the swim team guys, then off to Sendai to fill our sushi cravings, then practice.

In general, I had an interesting sophomore year. Compared other years in my education, this year was probably the hardest year in terms of difficulty of classes and workload. It was a year when I had quite a few friendships tested, but also when I learned the most about some of my friends. I have gotten close to some seniors, which was great then, but is saddening now when graduation arrives. Looking back on this year, I also feel pride because this year was the first year I made CCS for swimming, maintained captain of Science Olympiad, and was chosen as Vice President of Key Club. I am also very much relieved that I managed to continue my unweighted 4.0 (weighted GPA is 4.5).

I am excited for this weekend, but not really looking forward to my first day of Physics on Monday. Tomorrow: MHS graduation, then HOPEFULLY I get to watch Michael Phelps & Ryan Lochte swim at Santa Clara!!! Sunday: Last day of Chinese school, Allison's BBQ

Smooooothie

PE is over! I am pretty sure I have an A in that class, although our team's 2 losses today might lower it to an A-. Today was my last day of PE... EVER! I am all done with those unnecessary credits, BOOYAH. And the Honors Chem final is over!!!! And I don't know my grade on it exactly, but my overall grade is an A-, whoot whoot! Time to celebrate :)

I think I might sleep early today, like at around 11 o'clock. The earliest since... as far back as I remember. Maybe since February break even. Thank god I don't have any hard finals tomorrow. Just AP World (AP testing is over, so we aren't doing anything hard) and Precal (if I get a D on the final, my grade go down to an A-). 2 more days of school!

It was nice catching up today, it's been a while.

2:07 pm

^ That was when the 2nd Vy Phung was born into this world. HAPPY BIRTHDAY THAO VY PHUNG! I am seriously (and depressingly) flat broke right now, so expect a present as soon as I get my allowance! I love you to death, even when you punch me (you suck). PE and my all of my stupid school days would definitely be horrible and boring and looooooong without you to bother me ;) All jokes aside though, you are a little ray of sunshine and you never fail to make me laugh. Sweet 16!<3

Holy... I am so stressed out right now. Every little thing is making me frustrated, and I wanna rip someones head off! Ergh, I am so damn scared for my Chem final tomorrow. MUST PASS!!!!!!!!!

Reality approaching

I am supposed to go take a practice SAT test tomorrow morning, like a simulated version of the real one. I really think I should go cause it would be very good practice but my mommy won't let me. She says I am too hard on myself and that I need my rest, but I think she is wrong! I just want to be prepared for the real SATs next year and practice makes perfect, right? Sure I am exhausted, but sleeping in is a fool's reason for missing an opportunity. But then again, I have no choice. My mommy is my ride.

Paycheck for election working arrived today. I need to save up to start buying gas for my (future) hand-me-down Ford Explorer haha.

I don't like a certain swimming picture of me in the yearbook but the underwater one turned out cool. And guess what? Coach talked about me and Gideon at CCS in the MHS Union, hehe. Which reminds me, I wonder if I got into journalism...

When the balloons were released into the air at the senior rally today, it was pretty depressing. I thought about all the seniors that I have gotten close to, but are LEAVING. How I would definitely miss talking to An Nguyen everyday and hunting for hot guys at meets, seeing Ivy Nguyen's smartass and beautiful face in 2nd period, watching Michelle Pham leading our swim team and being my 500 free buddy, making fun of Allison Hoang everyday, chilling or getting food with Ronald Manuel in 4th, doing "supplies!" to Michael Pham almost everyday, and laughing at Lauren Padilla's crazy antics. I love them all, and it seems to weird not being in their presence or be jealous that they are moving on with their lives and mine is kind of in a standstill. The Class of 09 definitely cannot be replaced and the people I have met in that class are some of the greatest people I have had the honor of knowing.

It's unofficial but if the thing I found out today is true, THEN THAT IS SO FREAKIN' AWESOME! When I know for sure, I will post an update :)

Sleep no more

I am really bad at memorizing things, due to my sucky memory. And I need to buy something to get rid of those dark circles under my eyes. I have been getting 5-6 hours of sleep each night and sleep deprivation makes me feel miserable, vulnerable, and extremely moody. Everything is instantly interpreted by me to be more dramatic than it would have been interpreted in reality. I am so drained, emotionally and physically.

You know the character, Ross, in Macbeth? I really feel like we have a lot in common, and not in a good way. I feel like I am not as honest to certain people as I should be, sometimes because a certain person told me not to and sometimes because I didn't want to for my own reasons (selfish much?). Or maybe I am just overreacting. God, I really need some damn sleep!!

Yay my mommy is back from Canada! And OMG she bought maple cream cookies!<3 And OMG there is a chocolate version, like Oreos! Or should I say... biscuits a la creme d'erable & biscuits au chocolat a la creme d'erable.

More than a triangle

This is turning out to be way too confusing. I think I should get out of this square/pentagon crap when I have a chance. Otherwise, I would be a total hypocrite. I am trying to help you realize some things, but it seems this is all doomed from the start. *Private blog. Hi there, it sure has been a while.

Thought this might be interesting:
"I [got famous] the way you are supposed to. I played every club in New York City and I bombed in every club and then killed it in every club and I found myself as an artist. I learned how to survive as an artist, get real, and how to fail and then figure out who I was as singer and performer. And, I worked hard." --Lady Gaga
I was kinda surprised when I found out she wasn't born onto a reality show or had her fame handed to her from music execs. I think it's great and very respectable that she had to work for it from a young age and face tons of rejection before getting her big break. And look where she is today. I am a huge believer that hard work pays off, that focusing on certain things with enough motivation will get you places.

Wishes are like goldfish with propellers

^ I have no idea what that means, but I saw that today when I was looking for a Macbeth script online. It sounds cute though :)

Today was pretty much a bad day. HUGE LESSON: Coffee and coke do not mix, ever. I had a frappucino before school and coke during 2nd. I ended up having surprisingly good day, until I completely crashed in 6th period and at practice today. We had to run a stupid mile on a dirt track, but at least we did backstroke.

*Happy birthday to the twins, Tan and Vivi!

I am pretty disappointed that I wasn't nominated for anything other than a scholar athlete patch. Placing in the top 8 TWICE at League finals (more than any other girl on the team) and being the first girl to make CCS in YEARS isn't enough? Wow Coach, I feel pretty useless and a little bit angry. I guess I can only look forward to next year.

More school

HELLO to the lovely month of JOOOOONE!

Our lemon battery thingymabobber won! Our voltage was off the charts, it was worth the $1.25. Thanks to Brian Nguyen and his vinegar-ed lime. I really hope those extra 10 points on the Redox test will help me to beef up my grade before the SCARY ASS chem final. Which leads me to AP Chem next year, which I don't even feel like talking about. I am just very worried, that's all ):

In fact, must BEEF UP all of my grades, so finals will be less stressful. Time to bring in the extra credit!

Trying to order "underground" team shirts for MHS swimming is very difficult. To rush shipping or not to rush shipping (and pay an extra $80 so I can get it before school ends)? Hanes or Gildan (50 cents difference, but I like Hanes)? More than a hundred different fonts to choose from! And where the hell does everyone hang out at school!? Swimmers are scattered everywhere, I can't seem to find even 2 in one place. Some can't think of a good nickname (ask An, he will definitely think of something nasty), some can't afford it (true, $22 is a lot), some don't even know their own sizes (wow, you don't buy clothes?). Gosh I feel like peoples' mother, constantly harassing them. I think I might just end up having my mom pay for the entire order (almost $400, crazy huh?) and pay her back when I get everyone's money, cause people keep forgetting.

Yay, Kevin Vuong is on MTW! Vincent and Thi are staying too, hooooray! And my love, Wendy, of course<3 (Plus some annoying freshmen from JV but that's whatever, they are slow anyways) It's like a MHS reunion. I just hope that new girl isn't fast. Wow I sound horrible. If she is fast, that's a good thing... right? It will be a good and healthy challenge, I guess. Oh, for the record: I hate breaststroke.

Still searching for that grad ticket cause I want to go! I have really gotten to know some amazing seniors and I want to be able to see them graduate. I will buy it, at a good price. Any offers?
