Science Olympiad meeting afterschool was productive and I actually feel like I can contribute something. Beginning to earn a teacher's trust is always nice too ("If you tell anyone in my classes, I will deny it!" "Yes, Ms. Meyer." Haha). Couldn't make rally dance practice but I think I got the first 30 seconds that Tram taught me. Orthodontist said my braces STILL aren't coming off! Another promise shot to hell.
Still need to tell Mom about Sadies but she has been especially... I don't know... Motherly? towards me cause of finals. Kept asking me what I wanted to eat and it took most of my willpower to say "Oh, nothing" because I try not to eat outside of my 3-meals-a-day. She let me skip swimming practice today when I had a revelation that I will be swimming nonstop until end of May (and plus, it's fucking cold). Well actually, I swim nonstop anyways when it's not swim season, it's just the increased pressure of "You cannot miss any practices or else!"
I was right! Teddy Roosevelt was the youngest president to be inaugurated! Not Kennedy, he was second. In your face! :D (In case you were wondering: Clinton is 3rd, Grant is 4th, and Obama is 5th. Reagan was oldest.)
My homepage is the New York Times but I'm thinking I should change it. All the headlines get me distracted and I end of spending an hour reading things. Good distraction, sure. But a distraction is still a distraction after all.
I hit my funny bone yesterday, then I laughed when my arm started hurting. When I realized it WAS my funny bone, I laughed even more. But all this funny business got me wondering, so I did what I always do... Google it! (Yeah, shut up. I bet you do it too.) Look what I found:
Your funny bone isn't actually a bone at all. Running down the inside part of your elbow is a nerve called the ulnar nerve. The ulnar nerve lets your brain know about feelings in your fourth and fifth fingers. It's also one of the nerves that controls some movement of your hand. You get that funny feeling when the ulnar nerve is bumped against the humerus (say: hyoo-muh-rus), the long bone that starts at your elbow and goes up to your shoulder. Tapping your funny bone doesn't do any damage to your elbow, arm, or ulnar nerve. But it sure feels strange!
