Things to NOT look forward to:
- Zones Swimming Championships next weekend, because it is too cold (Imagine wearing only a swimsuit in 10 degree weather... every year)
- Piano Competition in February (Holy shit... that has hella got me stressing cause I am so behind!!!)
- FINALS. Oh my god, even typing the word scares me
Things to look forward to:
- Zones Swimming Championships next weekend, because even still, I enjoy swimming
- 1st day of MHS swim season! (January 26)
- Chinese club Lunar/fashion show
- Braces off! By late January/early February
- No school on the 19th (& no Chinese school on 18th)
- Sadies: BLACKOUT on 23rd (:
When I make a list, I feel a whole lot better. Every now and then, all of us need a whole lot of reassurance that life isn't all that bad and there is always something to look forward to.
By the way, I learned what the BORDERLINE in Borderline Personality Disorder means. It means your personality is a "combination of a mood disorder and an impulse-control problem" (Time magazine - January 19, 2009). I have always wondered about it. I bet you didn't know that! (If you did, I don't really give a damn).

Development
Lots and lots of talk about Sadie Hawkins: Blackout! Haha. I am gonna buy a ticket tomorrow, but that is the only kind of action I am gonna take for now probably. Or I might decide by tomorrow, who knows. Although I do have someone in mind, I need to do some thinking about who I really want to ask.
Lecture on Sigmund Freud in English today. He is so incredibly interesting, I love it! I love how the brain works, what our personality says about us, and most importantly, why we are who we are. Since 8th grade, I have wanted to become a psychologist for god knows what reason, either a psychologist (Pro: No cubicle, choose my hours, have my own office, meet different people. Con: What if a patient tells me some really disturbing things? I could go crazy!) or a neurologist (Pro: Real brains to study! So freakin awesome. Con: 7 years of med school, oh my). Anything to do with the brain is fascinating to me. Me & Ashley have even made a mini pact to become psychologists (:
Anyways, in the lecture, Mrs. Mellera talked about trauma in the developmental stages (ages 0-5). It got me thinking, did I traumatize my brother? Sometimes I feel I am too harsh on him. But I can honestly say it was for his own good. Its just that... maybe that is traumatizing. Like when I lecture him or tell him he did something wrong. Idk! Gotta remember that What Freud said are just theories, as realistic as they may sound.

Year 2K9
Yearly goals/resolutions don't work, or at least not for me. This past year, I have been waking up every morning and coming home everyday from school with certain daily goals for myself. And for me, those seem to work the best. I can get things done that way because I prefer life taken one day at a time. Resolutions I forget within a week. But if I mess up on my daily goal, I go to sleep with an unclear conscience. Another reason I don't do resolutions, I hate hate hate failing at anything and I (maybe you too) tend to be overly optimistic at the start of a new year.
Sweet 16 birthday party thing was pretty bomb, even though it was Plan B. Plan B > Plan A anyways. Pictures up later from party w/ family & party w/ friends. I have a bunch of Chinese homework to do by tomorrow. 20 hours to do it might not even be enough (Sorry, I procrastinated... again. So today I am paying for it.)
Looking back, I had an enjoyable break. I got things done that I have been wanting to get done, things that have nothing to do with school. Unfortunately, I barely got any school stuff done, which includes big projects I wanted to get a head start on because they are due soon and I don't want to be stressing on my first week back. Too bad I WILL be stressing on the first week back. My grades are all pretty much borderline A-, so during finals, I will be in supersonic ultra stress mode to try to maintain them. Maybe I should have set a goal/resolution for winter break, ughhh.
