U

Saw this cute/kinda creepy quote on my friend's AIM profile. It does not apply to me right now cause I do not like anyone and I don't intend on liking anyone, but it is clever nonetheless (:
If I had the letter "HRT", I can add "EA" to get heart or a "U" and get "HURT". But I'd rather choose "U" and get "HURT" than to have a "HEART" without "U"
Who spends all day thinking of things like this? Definitely not a high schooler! We only have time to think about what our homework tells us to think about, and probably a limited number of other things. Precious time spent on thinking could be spent on studying. That's just what I think. (No pun intended, haha)

Fragments

Presents... still need to buy a lot. No freakin' clue how I am gonna find time to go shopping. I am so, so bad with time management.

Pictures contain too many memories. The weird thing about memories is that there are some that you want to forget, but you can't. You can't because they are details in a story and a story isn't complete when you string nice memories together. It would be a downright lie to say you lived life in complete happiness. There has to be a climax where you don't know what happens next, where you can predict something bad is about to happen. & When it happens, you learn things. It shapes you. & If you have a picture of it, it continues shaping you. A simple image can be a painful reminder, a total nightmare, a ray of sunshine, a life lesson, & many other emotions. Each memory-filled picture is a detail of my story and without that detail, things just wouldn't make sense. & Even as things don't make complete sense to me right now, I have to look at the bigger picture. (No pun intended, haha) Everything happens for a reason. Things happen to make better things happen.

Just for fun, cause I was always wondering about this:
If your head is overheated, there's a good chance you'll yawn soon, according to a new study that found the primary purpose of yawning is to control brain temperature. "Brains are like computers," Andrew Gallup, a researcher in the Department of Biology at Binghamton University who led the study, told Discovery News. "They operate most efficiently when cool, and physical adaptations have evolved to allow maximum cooling of the brain." Contagious yawning is thought to be an evolved mechanism for keeping groups alert so they "remain vigilant against danger," Gallup said.

Bring me to life

Exhaaaausted, oh man. One of my busiest weekends. In a nutshell:

- Friday: Practice, then holiday party for my mom's company. In charge of music & dancing. Ended at 10pm.
- Saturday: Pleasanton swim meet, woke up at 7am. Good: dropped around 2 seconds for 2 of my events (2:40 for 200 IM, 2:21 for 100 free). Bad: still hate 500 free (6:20? My dad forgot to get my time), and do you know how fucking cold it was? High 40s/low 50s & it almost rained. (Keep in mind we were practically naked & about to race our frozen bodies, which wasn't responding at all in this crap weather.) My parka is a lifesaver! Layers, layers, layers of clothes.
- Saturday (night): Borders gift wrapping. 2 hours is a good start for my community service. I need to get those in! Bought presents for Mom, Dad, & brother but I still need cousin's & grandparents'.
- Sunday/tomorrow: Chinese school, tennis lesson, catch up/START! on homework (AP world chapter review, test review, Chem lab report)

I think I take advantage of the fact that I have a wonderful dad. Most of the time, we talk about the economy, government, current events, etc. But he can hold any conversation, every subject. He can always make me laugh; sometimes with him, sometimes at him, haha. He always asks about me day and what I learned from it. He was at my entire swim meet today, without being very annoying and coach-like (The few times I got mad at him, I felt bad instantly). Instead, he was completely supportive and helpful. I really appreciate that.

My temper. My ego. It is becoming very bad. It makes me feel guilty when I lash out at my friends. I think the stress is getting to me, big time. Oh yeah, I turn red very easily and usually for no apparent reason. I hate it.

Sleep... I need sleep, so much sleep.

Winter break... please, please come now.
